How to get better analysis from your videos

A good video makes a big difference to your report. Here’s how to set yourself up for the best results.

Keep your whole body in frame

The analysis looks at your posture, balance, and movement. If your head or feet are cut off, the feedback will be limited.

  • Film from the side of the slope so your full body stays in shot
  • Keep the camera far enough back that we can see your full stance and ski position

Shoot in good light

Bright, even light helps the model see your position and edges clearly.

  • Overcast or flat light is fine
  • Avoid strong backlight (sun directly behind you) or very dark conditions
  • If you’re filming in variable light, aim for a stretch where you’re clearly visible

Capture real turns

We use the first 30 seconds of your clip. Make sure you’re already skiing when the clip starts.

  • A few complete turns in that window give the best input for the report
  • Don’t start the recording at the top of the run and then stand still — get moving first, then start the clip (or trim the beginning)

Keep the camera steady

If someone is filming, ask them to hold the phone as still as possible. Shaky footage is harder to analyse and can affect the quality of the feedback.

  • A stable shot makes it easier to see your body position and edge angles
  • If you’re using a pole or mount, secure it well

Summary

Follow these tips and you’ll get more accurate scores and more useful recommendations from your runs.
